Everyone was on the ball this morning as we were on the road 30 minutes before our agreed departure time of 8:30am. Probably just as well as the roads were less than ordinary; quite dismal in fact in some places; in others very decent. This was a new road for us. A brief stop at Condamine to see the Condamine Bell. Not much else to see, except for a nice pub (bit early for that) so we photographed the bell and promptly moved on!
Mornos was had on the side of the road in a pull-out, which K&J missed as Greg wasn't quick enough to get back on the road to notify them. It was here we found our inverter wasn't working. When we turned it on, it shut down the entire caravan electrical system. We did manage to restart the battery management system, but the inverter refused to start. There went the nice pod coffee and Wendy had to join Greg in drinking a decaf instant coffee; my goodness she only just survived the ordeal!
Onwards to Roma and we refuelled just before the city with the cheapest fuel in town, before heading to the Gun Club to set up camp. It has certainly changed in the three years since we were here last; there are a lot more powered sites and less unpowered sites. Prices have increased as well, however, that is probably due to the expenditure in providing a lot more powered sites. We are happy to pay as the Gun Club is spacious and a nice location out of the city.
After lunch, Greg went for a ride into town and back around the block with the boys whilst Wendy did some washing and work. We congregated at K&Js for pre-dinner drinks and a chat before retiring to our respective vans for the dinner and the night time routine. Will try and sort out the inverter issue with a auto sparky tomorrow.
