After coffee and breakfast Greg rode to his nephew’s (Rob) house and after a brew and catchup, they went for a ride around the edge of the range, which is kind of known as the panorama ride. He experienced some terrain he doesn’t get at home - HILLS! It was a tough ride even by Greg’s standards and was really looking forward to lunch when he got home.
After coffee, Wendy went for a walk up the hills and back down again and then had breakfast. As it was a fairly ordinary day, she decided to do some work whilst Greg was out conquering the hills of Toowoomba.
After lunch we both had a bit of quiet time until some cowboy drove in at a great rate of knots and then yelled out to us to ask where the office was. He was obviously a boy; if he had driven just a bit further he would have seen it. There endeth the quiet time.
We hopped into the Cruiser and headed to the post office to pick up a parcel Wendy had had sent to her cousin’s address and then onto the Tourist Information Centre. Armed with a mountain of brochures, we did a section of the recommended drive around Toowoomba. We visited Picnic Point which was a spectacular view down range, a very tall flag pole, and scenic waterfall. Next on the list was the Waterbird Habitat, however, that was all cordoned off and undergoing repairs after recent heavy rain. The last place we stopped at was the University of Southern Queensland Japanese Garden. It looked very nice and very Japanesey, but a little tired. A large population of bin chickens and ducks had set up shop which did detract slightly from the ambiance. Home James.
Exercises and stretches were completed before heading out to have dinner with Greg’s brother and family at the City Golf Club. It was a great night to catch up with everyone, probably need to do it more often.
