Day 33: Fri 10 Jun - Ingham

5 (feels like 2.6) - 22 deg C, a lovely clear, crisp and chilly morning, staying clear all day, with a slight sneaky breeze

A lazy day in comparison to the others so far. Greg and Bob went for a walk through the TYTO Wetlands and beyond. After breaky, Greg did the grocery shopping whilst Wendy re-did the itinerary and tried to print it and a calendar for B&N. The printer was almost launched into space; however, with encouragement from Greg and perseverance, we got it printing (just in time). We only had just enough time to get changed and head into town to meet B&N at JK's Delicatessen for mornos. We had mornosed here back in 2018 with Sue & Mark and Gunther & Yvonne, and enjoyed it so much, we went back today and it didn't disappoint.

Whilst Wendy went to have her hair cut, Greg went shopping for some fresh fish for dinner tonight. Nicely shawn, Wendy met Greg back at the van and went to visit the TYTO Regional Art Gallery and the mini Military Museum which is in the Hinchinbrook Shire Library. Neither were much to write home about; the art gallery was full of photos and stories of the local Italians who had made Ingham what it is today, but no art, and the military display was about Gallipoli and the ANZACs, most of which we have seen before.

Lunch was had on return to the van, then a rest. Greg went for an afternoon ride with Bob whilst Wendy cleaned the house and did stuff on the computer. Just before sunset, we ventured out to the Wetlands to take some pictures of the wildlife and the sunset. Well, that was a fizzer.

Back to the vans to cook dinner and we ate together between the vans, and had a good old chat about travels and things we used to do when we were young, and what we would not want our kids to be doing today. The cold eventually brought the evening to a close and it was back to warm vans/beds.

Wrap-up and Reflections

The main thing we learned on this trip was to stay flexible. Bad weather interrupted us 25 days into the trip, meaning we had to spend three...
