Day 5: Sat 23 Apr - Toowoomba

13-21 deg C, cloudy, then fine and sunny, very windy

Although the sky looked very ominous this morning there was no rain.  After breakfast we hopped on the bikes and rode into the Farmer's Markets which were near the Cobb & Co Museum we visited the other day. We rode up the hill from the Showgrounds on a different road this time, which was a little easier, but still the same maximum elevation.

The markets were fairly well patronised and had some nice produce, but the main thing was they provided a really good coffee, a banana and Nutella crepe for Wendy, and some cornflake biscuits for Greg. We had to wait a while for our coffees, such was the popularity of the coffee van. However, there was seating available and really nice music playing so the wait was not a chore.

Our route home included some laneways in the CBD that had been adorned with some pretty impressive murals.  This city is a fairly art conscious one; pity the art gallery is currently closed for renos as we were looking forward to visiting it. We also stopped in at the Giant bike store to buy a bell for Wendy's bike. Whilst Greg was in the bike shop, Jen and Al rang to ask if we were home as they wanted to see the van to get some ideas. As we were ready for home anyway we set off. The down hill run into the showgrounds was great; it doesn't get any better than downhill with a monster tailwind. We both reached 58 km/h this time.

We quickly tidied the van in time for Jen and Al's visit and spent a good 45 minutes with them discussing various aspects of caravanning, including solar power and the inverter.

Just after they left, Kev and Jo arrived. We said g'day to them before leaving them in peace to set up shop. Al returned a little later to show Greg a unique GS100 BMW motor bike he has for sale. Greg is very tempted, but..... One of our friends is always looking for unusual BMWs like this, so Greg took pictures and details to forward to him. After Al left, we caught up with J&K over an afternoon cuppa.

Afternoon exercises and stretches were then completed, before freshening up for pub night. Tonight we went to Club Glenvale, about five minutes drive away. The meals were delicious, the company was fantastic, and the ambience of the place was conducive to having a great night

Back home the post-dinner routine was undertaken before hitting the sack.
