Day 4: Fri 22 Apr - Toowoomba

15-22 deg C, cloudy skies and very windy

Toowoomba lived up to its reputation last night and today with a rather strong wind. While it kept Wendy indoors working all morning, Greg relished the challenge to stay upright on the bike. The ride into the city was mostly up hill against the wind. Coffee at the Ducks Bakery and then back to the van.  With gusts to 45km/h plus the hills the 20 odd km seems more like a 50!  But he survived unscathed.

A lunch invitation from Nephew Rob saw us spending a very pleasant afternoon with Rob, Wendy (the other Wendy Walker) big brother Bob and SIL Prudy.  A lovely lunch with great company; thank you to the Walkers from the Walkers.  Note to selves, must do this more often.

We stopped in at the shops for a few resupplies before returning to the van at the showgrounds. After a little relax time, we phoned our meal order through to the Smiling Thai Restaurant, and it was ready when we arrived 15 minutes later.  It smelled soooo gooood in the car and tasted even better back at the van!

On the way home, we were treated to quite a nice sunset.  It lasted only a few minutes and it was gone.  Thank goodness for phone cameras.   Those were the only pictures we took today.

Kev and Jo will join us tomorrow, all things being equal in the universe.
