After breakfast, Wendy got down to washing towels and clothes; four washes in the van's machine. Greg went riding with Bob. Took advantage of the great cycle/walk paths around town. It was very steep ride up to the lookout, but as usual, fun on the way down.
Between loads of washing and other chores, Wendy researched places to stay now that we are not going to the Tip. As it is school holidays, Undara and Cobbold Gorge were no go zones due to being fully booked. We did consider sticking around for an extra 10 to 14 days in order to get into Undara, but the time available on the whole trip would not allow. So, to ensure park access during school holidays we are now booked until 9 Jul when we leave Karumba. After that we are scheduled to go to Burketown (mostly dirt road) so any decision on that will have to be made a little closer due to the weather. Plenty to keep Wendy occupied over the next two weeks. We're not sure we will be able to get into Lawn Hill either, time will tell. Anyway, those places are not going anywhere.
After lunch, we all hopped into the Cruiser and went shopping at Mossman. Nothing exciting, just groceries and for a tool to adjust the brakes on the van. No tool, but a flat head screw driver does the same job apparently We refuelled on the way home and handed over a smidge more than $200! Oh the joys of the energy crisis.
Pre-dinner drinks were had at our place tonight and we made a minor adjustment to the schedule. Dinner was cooked and eaten and then another session of "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown". Laugh till you cry!
Tomorrow we move onto somewhere neither of us has been before, together. Wendy believes she may have been to Cooktown with her family when they lived in Cairns.
