Day 67: Thu 14 Jul - Adels Grove to Burketown, 208km; total towed: 6 644km

4.7-24 deg C, a gorgeous fine, sunny day, with a hefty breeze as soon as we started heading North from Gregory, that continued right through the afternoon, and eased after dark

We left Adels Grove at 7:20am, hoping to beat the majority of travellers and also the dust created by them. We took the return journey a tad slower than the inwards one and the only casualty was the microwave housing; once the screws have come out once, they never go back in with as much purchase. Bigger screws will fix it once we find them in a shop. The shower door we taped up before we left and was still in place upon arrival, so that was a plus.

We arrived at Gregory about 9:30am just in time for a late breakfast and mornos. Whilst Wendy queued for the muffins, Greg got to work pumping up the tyres using the bicycle pump - all eight of them! After that great workout he was truly ready for breakfast and mornos. The apple and cinnamon muffins were just as delicious as they were four days ago.

We were back on the road heading North just after 10:30am. The road was great, although lots of cattle grids, which we slowed down for because you never know their condition until you hit them. Before checking in to the van park, we refuelled and checked the tyre pressures the easy way, even though they were warm. We will check them tomorrow morning and adjust as necessary. We were checked-in and on our site (#30) by 12:20pm.

Wendy got down to doing some serious washing after four days in the dust. In between washes and after lunch, she uploaded fours days worth of blogs. Lucky the internet up here is ..............FAST! After the last load of washing was hung out, she joined Greg on the bed for a nana nap.

We went for a local ride with Bob, before pre-dinner drinks, then dinner in our own vans. After four nights of no TV, we just had to watch an episode of "8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" and it did not disappoint.

Tomorrow we explore Burketown.
