We were on the road at 8am on the dot. First stop was at the Warrego Wildlife Refuge at Mungallala, about 40km West of Mitchell. We were really glad that we stopped here, the little roos and wallabies are so cuuute! Wendy got to pose with her namesake, a young roo. The work these people do in fostering baby animals and nurturing them back to health, and then releasing them is absolutely amazing. We made a donation to assist the carers.
Onwards to Morven where we stopped for mornos brewed in the van. We then took a walk around town to show Bob and Noeleene the sights we had seen two years ago. The only thing missing was the metal chook at the 'Pick-a-Box' Motel; he was either stolen, or was removed by the owners to reduce the tourists coming in to photograph him.
We were checked in at the Cobb&Co Caravan Park at Charleville at midday. After setting up, we had lunch then a rest before setting out on the bikes to see a bit of Charleville. Unfortunately most of the town was closed; well it was Saturday afternoon. We did about 5km before we were back home. After an afternoon cuppa, we set about preparing dinner before happy hour with the neighbours, Bob and Noeleene. Homemade pizza topped off another great day touring.
