3-21 deg C, fine and sunny with intermittent clouds and drizzle
For the first time in a week, we awoke to semi-blue skies and sunshine. Greg was up before the sparrows and after coffee went for a walk. Wendy arose not long after and upon finishing her coffee, got stuck into some washing. Breakfast and chores out of the way we all set off to town to do the self-guided tour. However before that could even be attempted we needed a coffee, which we found at the Cherry Tree Café, a lovely old place full of character.
We did the CBD Walk to see all the interesting buildings in town that were built around the late 1800s. They really knew how to build in those days and they look as impressive today as we imagine they would have back then. The buildings we saw were: Police Station built in 1901; St Andrews Uniting Church completed 1870; Court House opened 1886; Masonic Temple opened 1887; St Mary's Catholic Church opened 1926; St Mary's Presbytery; Condamine Club completed 1913; Post Office opened 1898; Thomas Joseph Byrnes Monument, the first QLD born Premier; Town Hall and Tourist Information Centre opened 1888; and War Memorial. There were a few other speccy buildings we saw that were not listed as part of the CBD Walk. We were going to do the Railway Walk and Dairy Walk, however, it started to drizzle, so we called an end to playing tourist. We will have to come back to Warwick as there is a nice train ride to do also.
A little shopping was in order, followed by lunch back at the van. After a rest, Greg went for a ride (Railway and River Walks) and Wendy did some work. After stretches and exercises, we joined Kev and Jo in the camp shelter for pre-dinner drinks, before retiring for dinner.
