Whilst Wendy did some washing and dunny dumping, the boys paddled the kayaks back to Dave's to save him the trouble of coming to get them. It was really nice of Dave to lend us his toys, and the boys enjoyed the different activity from riding and walking. Wendy then picked them up from Dave's after visiting the dump point.
Back to the van for a little rest before Greg rode back to Dave's to drop off some Rapigel to assist in relieving his aching knees. Mornos was had on Greg's return. As Wendy is still not feeling 100% (a lot better though), Greg went off to get some pipe joiners (he found a pin-hole size leak in the main inlet hose, which may account for the water pump coming on and off intermittently when we are free camping) and did the grocery shopping. After fixing the issue, we tried the pump and it didn't kick in for no reason; problem solved!
After a light lunch and a big rest, Greg got down to the serious business of de-constructing the camp as much as possible, for our departure tomorrow. Wendy made a passionfruit fluffy pudding to take to Dave and Noy's (Noy is cooking for us tonight).
We had a lovely evening with the Sperlings and Barbs. Noy cooked Thai Fried Rice with chicken, Pad Thai Chicken and Pad Thai Prawns, each dish individually cooked and served. The fluffy pudding was a hit with everyone, even Noy, and it was a nice light finish to a scrumptious Thai dinner. We were home just after 8pm, readying to leave in the morning.
We are keeping a keen eye on the weather; there is some talk of another 'system' coming over from the West which will bring heavy rain to large parts of QLD, especially the North. We will be in Cooktown when it is alleged to strike, so we will have to re-assess our trip to the Tip should the rain eventuate.
